About Marilyn

I grew up in Germany, and I still call Idar-Oberstein my home to this day.  I spent my childhood learning how to make jewelry with my grandfather in his workshop, trudging through our backyard stream, and exploring the “city” on foot.

I joined the Air Force at the age of 19 and got lucky enough to find myself stationed in Italy. After more than 5 years of living in Italy and exploring Europe, my next stop became enchanting New Mexico.  I then decided to leave active duty after 8 years so I could focus on other passions.

From the time between then and now, I moved to Austin and became a Somatic Therapist.  I studied at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and have received training in Structural Bodywork, Deep Massage – The Lauterstein Method, Sports, Swedish, and Seated (chair) Massage.  It’s my immersion in the somatic arts that gives me immense satisfaction.

In addition to Massage Therapy,  I also proudly serve in the Texas Air National Guard in San Antonio,  specializing in F-16 Aircraft Aviation Electronics repair (Avionics).  It keeps me balanced.  =)

When I’m not practicing massage or sweating it out on the flightline, I’m spending time with my partner, actively raising three wonderful children, exploring Austin, running the trails, circuit training, practicing yoga, and enjoying life!
